AEW’s Explosive Collision Episode Draws Massive Viewership and Dominates Key Demo Rating!

AEW Collision Viewership and Key Demo Rating Declines in Taped Episode

The latest episode of AEW Collision, which aired on TNT this past Saturday night at 8pm, drew 452,000 viewers, according to Wrestlenomics. This marks a 24.03% decrease from the previous week’s live episode, which garnered 595,000 viewers.

In addition to the decline in viewership, the key demo rating for the third episode of Collision also saw a significant drop. The show received a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demographic, down 38.09% from the 0.21 rating of the previous episode. This translates to 172,000 viewers from the 18-49 demographic, a decrease of 36.76% compared to the 272,000 viewers from the previous episode.

Interestingly, the numbers for Saturday’s two-hour Collision episode closely resemble the viewership and key demo rating for Friday’s one-hour Rampage on TNT. The post-Forbidden Door II episode of Rampage, which aired at 10pm, attracted 450,000 viewers and received a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demographic, mirroring the figures for Collision.

The third episode of AEW Collision was taped on Thursday at the FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Full spoilers were available prior to the show, with several matches advertised, including Miro in action, AEW World Champion MJF’s in-ring debut on Collision, AEW TBS Champion Kris Statlander defending her title against Lady Frost, and quarterfinal matches for the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament featuring Juice Robinson vs. Ricky Starks, Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Dustin Rhodes, and ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe vs. Roderick Strong. The main event of the night featured CM Punk on commentary.

As we track the viewership for AEW Collision in 2023, the numbers have fluctuated since the premiere episode. The June 17 episode garnered 816,000 viewers with a 0.33 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The June 24 episode saw a decline to 595,000 viewers and a 0.21 rating in the key demo. The most recent episode on July 1 recorded 452,000 viewers and a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demographic.

It remains to be seen whether AEW Collision will be able to regain its viewership and key demo rating in the upcoming episodes. As fans continue to tune in, the promotion will need to deliver compelling storylines and matches to keep them engaged.
