The latest “Slam Dunk” edition of AEW’s Friday night show comes our way on tape from Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas (spoilers are here, if you’re interested – and if you are and choose to discuss them in the comments, please use the spoiler tag).
Tonight’s main event is Dustin Rhodes vs. Swerve Strickland.

AEW RAMPAGE RESULTS FOR FEB. 17
Rampage kicks off with The Elite defending the AEW world trios titles against Top Flight & AR Fox. Both teams get full entrances on TV, with Top Flight wearing shirts related to the NBA All-Star weekend. The Elite carry basketballs to the ring, in addition to wearing NBA All-Star weekend shirts.
The Elite defeat Top Flight & AR Fox to retain the AEW world trios titles. Both teams do a jump ball tip off with the basketball for some reason, with the Bucks catching Top Flight in a Manhattan Drop out of it. They do more spots with the basketball, with the Bucks accidentally hitting each other with the ball, and AR Fox “on fire” as he leaps with the ball over the rope for a dive onto The Elite. The crowd chants “defense.” The Elite pass the ball back-and-forth in the ring, and AR Fox takes the bait for some reason and jumps up to catch the ball, so they superkick him while he’s in the air. Dante brings the ball back into play later in the match, diving onto Nick Jackson from the top rope while tossing the ball into Omega’s crotch in the corner. The finish comes after The Elite deliver a triple superkick to stop their opponent in mid-air. Omega then gets the pin with the One-Winged Angel.
The lights go out while The Elite are celebrating after the match is over. The House of Black appear on stage. Then in a blink, they disappear. The commentators treat it like HOB is calling out The Elite for a trios title match.
The Gunns are interviewed backstage. They aren’t worried about defending their AEW world tag team titles against three other teams at Revolution.
Mark Henry interviews Orange Cassidy about his winning streak of 18 matches. Wheeler Yuta interrupts and tells Orange that the best thing he ever did was leave The Best Friends and join Blackpool Combat Club. Yuta is being kind of a dick, talks trash on OC, and says he wants the All-Atlantic title. Cassidy accepts the challenge.
Ricky Starks defeats Daniel Garcia. Starks does the Undertaker’s rope walk spot at one point, getting a “quite the undertaking” quip on commentary from Chris Jericho. Starks’ leg is compromised coming out of the commercial break, and he’s hobbling around on one good leg. Garcia hits a Rock Bottom, but Starks kicks out before the three count. Garcia locks in the Dragon Tamer submission hold. Sammy Guevara is ringside and pulls the ropes away from Starks. Action Andretti pops up and pummels Sammy. They brawl up the ramp and to the backstage area. Starks manages to land the spear on Daniel shortly thereafter, and hits the Roshambo for the pin fall win.
Guevara grabs a mic afterwards and demands a match next week with Action Andretti.
There’s a video hyping up Evil Uno vs. Jon Mxley, with new trash talk from Uno. Mox will respect with him after he unleashes violence on him.
Jade Cargill defeats Vertvixen to retain the TBS championship and improve her undefeated record to 53-0. Vertvixen takes a blow to the head and is slow to get up to start the match. Cargill does push-ups while the ref checks on her. Cargill hits Jaded for the very quick squash victory.
Mark Henry interviews Dustin Rhodes and Swerve Strickland before their main event match, which is coming up next. Trench is nowhere to be seen, and Swerve blames Rhodes for his absence. Dustin says hell is coming for Swerve.
Dustin Rhodes defeats Swerve Strickland by disqualification. Rhodes attacks Parker Boudreaux with a weapon during his entrance. Rhodes dishes out 10 punches in the corner on Strickland. Rhodes nails a release German suplex. Swerve takes over by biting Dustin’s hands, and then landing a pump kick to the head. He dropkicks Dustin’s head into the barricade on the outside. Dustin is busted open going into the commercial break.Later in the match, Dustin fired up through the pain and hit Swerve with a superplex followed by a piledriver, but it wasn’t enough for the three count. Dustin hit his finisher, but Boudreaux pulled him off Swerve before he could get the pin fall, causing the match to end via disqualification.
After the match, Swerve and Boudreaux try to end Dustin’s career. Boudreaux takes out all the security guards while Swerve carves up Dustin’s forehead with a weapon. They pull out the cinder block. They place Dustin’s head on the block and set him up for the top rope stomp. But they freeze in their tracks when Keith Lee’s music plays! Lee appears from behind (with new hair) and takes it to both Mogul Affiliates with strikes and headbutts. Parker takes the bullet for Swerve, allowing Strickland to escape. Lee helps Rhodes to his feet as Rampage goes off the air.
