Jey Uso Discusses Potential Contenders to Dethrone Roman Reigns
In a recent interview with Daily Mail Sport’s Alex McCarthy, Jey Uso shared his thoughts on who he believes could be the next superstar to dethrone his cousin Roman Reigns as the Universal Champion. Despite no longer being a part of the Bloodline faction, Jey still wants to keep the championship within the family.
When asked about potential contenders, Jey mentioned that his twin brother Jimmy Uso is not in the running, stating, “Jimmy gonna get this work. You got an ass-whooping coming to you, Uce. Trust me.” He also noted that his younger brother Solo Sikoa, although a top performer, still has some growing to do before he can challenge for the title.
However, Jey did bring up an unexpected name as a possible contender – Sami Zayn. Despite some doubting Zayn’s star power, Jey praised him as one of the top performers in WWE. He even went as far as to say that besides The Miz, Zayn is his favorite wrestler.
Jey commended Zayn for his acting skills and the way he carries himself backstage. He believes Zayn has the potential to be a top-tier superstar and could potentially end Roman Reigns’ historic title reign.
It’s interesting to note that Jey also spoke highly of CM Punk, who recently made his return to WWE. While he acknowledged Punk’s star power and the buzz surrounding his comeback, Jey made it clear that the Tribal Chief is ready to face anyone, including Punk. He expressed his admiration for Punk and welcomed the opportunity to work with him in the future.
As for the possibility of CM Punk becoming the Tribal Chief, Jey dismissed the idea, stating, “It’s different when you get in there with the Tribal Chief.” He emphasized that Roman Reigns is prepared to take on any challenger and will continue to dominate the WWE landscape.
While Jey Uso’s opinions may surprise some, it’s clear that he has a deep respect for both Sami Zayn and CM Punk. Whether either of them will have the opportunity to dethrone Roman Reigns remains to be seen, but Jey’s endorsement certainly adds an interesting dynamic to the Universal Championship scene.
