Preview of World Tag League Night 13 on December 6

Karatsu City in Saga will see the last A Block matches in World tag League on Wednesday December 6. There are only three teams left in the block hunt, and those three will be whittled to two across the night’s top two matches.

Watch LIVE or in English on demand on NJPW World!

Main event: WTL A Block- BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Gabe Kidd & Alex Coughlin) (4-2) vs TMDK (Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls) (5-1)

Direct Tag record: 1-0 TMDK

Winners advance

If United Empire defeats CHAOS, both teams advance

The first match in these teams’ WTL campaigns of 2022 becomes potentially the last match for one of the duos in 2023. For the winners, a guaranteed spot in the final four, as top seed. For the losers, fates will be sealed by the time the semi main event leaves the ring.

For TMDK, a loss at the last league hurdle to eventual tournament winners Bishamon last year set Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls for a mixed 2023, one where three separate challenges to IWGP gold, twice against Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI, were turned aside. They certainly don’t want to be typecast as the nearlymen of the tag division for good, but the talk will continue if the Australians can’t get the job done tonight. So far, just Yano and Ishii have been able to outsmart and outpower arguably the greatest duo never to be IWGP Champions; will they be the only side with 12 points by the end of the night?

Or will Gabe Kidd and Alex Coughlin disrupt the game? The War Dogs have been wild, chaotic and violent, but after harsh lessons learned against Kaito Kiyomiya and Ryohei Oiwa, where a lack of concentration led to countout defeat, they have been focused as well. Only Gates of Agony have been able to beat Kidd and Coughlin via pinfall, and this team does not want an impressive run broken any further. Unlike TMDK, Coughlin and Kidd have proven they can defeat Bishamon in a title match environment when they took NJPW STRONG gold back in the summer. Might January 4 see similar results?
