Chris Jericho Unveils Exciting Original Plans for Like A Dragon Gaiden Street Fight

During a recent episode of his “Talk Is Jericho” podcast, Chris Jericho revealed some interesting details about the original plans for the “Like A Dragon Gaiden Street Fight” on AEW Dynamite.

Jericho explained that the initial idea was to have himself, Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, and a former partner of his team up against The Don Callis Family. However, the identity of this former partner was not revealed.

Ultimately, Jericho decided to bring in Paul Wight as the surprise partner. Despite some initial skepticism, Jericho believed that Wight’s size and presence would make for a compelling match against the formidable Will Hobbs. Wight’s involvement was intended to be a one-shot appearance, as he had other plans and ideas for his future in AEW.

Unfortunately, Sammy Guevara was unable to compete due to a concussion, so there were discussions about bringing in other wrestlers like Zack Sabre, Jeff Cobb, or Minoru Suzuki. However, it was ultimately decided that Brian Cage would be the best choice to fill the vacant spot in the match.
