Ted Dibiase Reveals the Key Ingredient Buff Bagwell Was Missing

Ted Dibiase, the WWE Hall of Famer, recently appeared on Everybody’s Got a Pod and discussed various topics, including Buff Bagwell and his time in WCW. Dibiase shared his thoughts on Bagwell’s potential as a star and what he believed was lacking in his in-ring abilities.

When asked about Buff Bagwell’s addition to the NWO, Dibiase expressed his opinion, saying, “You know, Buff’s a decent guy, a good-looking guy. But, you know, I didn’t ever see Buff as being a big star.” While Dibiase acknowledged Bagwell’s physical attributes, he didn’t believe that he had the potential to reach the top of the wrestling industry.

Dibiase further elaborated on what he believed Bagwell was missing in his wrestling style. He stated, “I guess because, you know, it’s like you could have a good match with Buff, but I don’t think you could have a great match with Buff and have a 30 or 40-minute match with him. I don’t see having a long match with him. And again, I like the guy, obviously a good-looking guy. He was a good hand. Maybe it’s better than average. There lies the deal. Some guys make it all the way to the top. And some guys don’t.”

While Dibiase’s comments may be seen as critical, it is important to note that he acknowledged Buff Bagwell’s abilities as a performer and his contributions to the wrestling industry. Dibiase’s perspective offers insight into the evaluation process that takes place behind the scenes in professional wrestling.
