When Steve Austin and Mick Foley shattered Diamond Dallas Page in a legendary showdown

Professional wrestling is not only about the action in the ring, but also the camaraderie and pranks that happen behind the scenes. One hilarious story comes from Mick Foley’s autobiography, “Have A Nice Day: A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks,” where he recounts a ribbing incident involving himself, Steve Austin, and Diamond Dallas Page during their time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1993.

During a week-long loop through the Carolinas, Foley and Austin made a bet on how long it would take to break the intense DDP. Austin predicted three days, while Foley was more confident, saying they could get him to crack in just two.

The ribbing began with Austin making age-related jokes at Page’s expense, with Page shrugging them off. Austin and Foley were both in their twenties at the time, while Page was nearing forty. However, by the second day, Page’s patience was wearing thin.

Upon checking into their hotel for the night, Page was already irritated to find that their room had no towels. After ordering some from room service, Page went to get ice for his injuries. Meanwhile, Austin hid all but two towels in the room.

When Page returned, he was dismayed to discover that there were only a washcloth and a hand towel. Frustrated, Page decided to fetch the towels himself. While he was gone, Austin revealed the hidden stash and placed them by the television, ensuring that Page would see them as soon as he entered the room.

Later that evening, after Page finished showering, he began his nightly ritual of tacking the blinds to the wall to block out as much light as possible. Unbeknownst to him, Foley and Austin had received a batch of chocolate chip cookies from a fan earlier that night.

While Page was in the shower, Foley and Austin filled his bed with at least three dozen cookies. When Page climbed into bed, he immediately noticed something unusual and started wriggling around.

Confused, Page exclaimed, “What, what, what’s this?” It didn’t take long for him to realize that there were cookies in his bed. Furious, he began tossing the crumbled cookies at Foley, who couldn’t contain his laughter.

Page then jumped on top of Foley and asked, “There, how do you like it? How do you like ****ing cookies in your bed?” Foley replied, “Well, it’s not the cookies that I mind, it’s the fact that you’re rubbing your naked ass all over me.”

Dejected, Page eventually got up, swept away the remaining cookies, and declared that he would get his own room the next day.

These types of pranks and ribbing are not uncommon in the world of professional wrestling. They serve as a way for wrestlers to bond and have some fun while on the road. While they may seem outrageous to outsiders, they are a part of the unique culture that exists within the wrestling industry.
