Emile Dupree, born Emile Goguen on October 20, 1936, in Shediac, New Brunswick, had a long and illustrious career in professional wrestling. He began his wrestling journey in the 1950s and had the opportunity to wrestle against legendary names such as Dusty Rhodes, Killer Kowalski, Arnold Skaaland, Pat Patterson, “Classy” Freddy Blassie, Rocky Johnson, Leo Burke, and The Cuban Assassin, among many others.

Dupree not only competed in the ring but also ran his own wrestling territory called Grand Prix Wrestling. This promotion saw the likes of Andre the Giant, Ric Flair, Randy Savage, Harley Race, Edge, and Christian showcase their talents.

After retiring from active competition, Emile Dupree had the pleasure of watching his son René Dupree carry on his wrestling legacy. René became a multiple-time champion in both WWE and Japan, solidifying the Dupree family’s impact on the wrestling world.
