Breaking News: AJ Styles to Face Finn Balor on Tonight’s SmackDown!
WWE has just announced a blockbuster match for tonight’s episode of SmackDown. Former WWE Champion AJ Styles will go one-on-one with Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion Finn Balor. While it’s not confirmed to be the main event, insider Better Wrestling Experience has reported that this match marks the beginning of a push to bring Styles back to a “huge” main event status.
This match is expected to further the ongoing Styles – The Bloodline storyline, which has been gaining momentum leading up to WWE Crown Jewel on November 4 in Saudi Arabia. It remains unclear if this means we will see AJ Styles take on Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at the event.
In addition to this exciting match, there are several other intriguing developments set to take place on tonight’s SmackDown.
LA Knight will face The Miz in a highly anticipated rematch. Knight emerged victorious in their previous encounter at Payback, and he is looking to continue his winning streak tonight.
According to Better Wrestling Experience, The Street Profits and Bobby Lashley will be involved in a heated segment. Despite being listed as heels by WWE, the trio has been receiving cheers from fans since being paired together.
Rumors have also circulated about a potential match between Santos Escobar and 2023 WWE Hall of Famer & United States Champion Rey Mysterio. While this match has been discussed, it has not been confirmed for tonight’s show.
In a surprise appearance, John Cena will be a guest on The Grayson Waller Effect. The WWE legend is expected to reunite with some old friends during the show. Although not confirmed, there is speculation that Cena may have an interaction with AJ Styles.
