WWE Completes Layoffs at Headquarters, More Than 100 Employees Let Go

Today, WWE HQ in Stamford underwent a series of layoffs, with more than 100 employees being let go. The cuts were expected as the company undergoes restructuring following Endeavor’s acquisition for the merger of WWE and UFC to form TKO Group Holdings. The layoffs were completed by 6pm ET, if not shortly before, according to PWInsider.

WWE President Nick Khan issued an internal email to confirm the layoffs and express gratitude to all employees for their understanding during this challenging time. He also requested that all employees based in Stamford report to WWE HQ this coming Tuesday for a staff meeting.

Friday was described as a rough day for everyone in the company, regardless of whether they were affected by the layoffs or not. However, it was confirmed that there were no talent cuts made on Friday, and there were no plans for talent cuts this week. Rumors still circulate about potential cuts to the talent rosters, but nothing has been confirmed.

According to PWInsider, some WWE divisions were hit particularly hard by the layoffs. The WWE Network, Podcasting, Marketing, and Live Events divisions were among those affected. The Insight & Analytics team, which had over 20 members, saw at least 17 members being let go. The Graphic Design department also experienced departures. It’s worth noting that not all divisions within WWE had layoffs, and employees in smaller divisions or teams were more likely to be spared.

Among the surprising cuts was Dana Warrior, the wife of the late WWE Hall of Famer The Ultimate Warrior. She had been with the company since 2014, working as a Brand Ambassador before joining the WWE Creative Team in 2019. In 2022, she transitioned to working on WWE’s Community Outreach division.

Another notable departure was Alexa Gotthardt, who served as WWE’s Manager of Digital Campaign Management. Gotthardt joined WWE in February 2022 after working for PUMA Group and Coface. She shared her thoughts on her LinkedIn page, expressing gratitude for the memories and experiences she had during her time at WWE.

As fans and employees process the impact of these layoffs, the future remains uncertain. It is yet to be seen how these changes will shape the company moving forward. Stay tuned to ProWrestlingWars.com for more updates on this developing story.
