Hangman Page’s feud with Swerve Strickland has officially begun on AEW Dynamite, and it looks like it’s going to be an intense battle between two talented wrestlers. The feud started when Hangman Page appeared on the September 6th episode of Dynamite to talk about his recent win at All Out and the $50,000 donation he made to the Chicago Public Education Fund. However, it wasn’t just a feel-good moment for Page, as he also wanted to discuss his future in AEW.
During his promo, Hangman Page was interrupted by Swerve Strickland, who made his first appearance since being put in a coffin by Sting and Darby Allin at All In. Strickland expressed his frustration with AEW, claiming that they had forgotten about Page and that he deserved the same opportunities. He even went as far as to say that if he had the same chances as Page, he would already be AEW’s first Black World Champion.
This confrontation led to a challenge from Strickland to Hangman Page. He gave Page two options: coast through his new contract and enjoy the perks of catering, or fight Swerve to prove that he deserves his spot. Page initially brushed off the challenge and started to leave, but when Strickland took a shot at his family, Page couldn’t resist and attacked him. However, it turned out to be a trap, as Brian Cage emerged to attack Page, his old rival.
The upcoming episode of Dynamite promises to be an exciting one, as it will feature Hangman Page taking on Brian Cage. This match will be a great opportunity for Page to establish himself away from The Elite and regain his momentum. Additionally, the card includes a Women’s Fatal 4-Way match between Toni Storm, Dr. Britt Baker, Nyla Rose, and Hikaru Shida, with the winner earning a shot at Saraya for the Women’s World title at Grand Slam on September 20th. The AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament finals will also take place on this episode.
The feud between Page and Strickland is an important one for both wrestlers. For Hangman Page, it’s a chance to prove himself once again and get back on track after a challenging year.
