WWE is saddened to learn that Adnan Al-Kaissie, known to sports-entertainment fans as Billy White Wolf, Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissy, and General Adnan, passed away on Sept. 6 at the age of 84.

Debuting in 1959, Al-Kaissie had an extensive career in professional wrestling, competing for various promotions under different names. Born in Baghdad, he had an amateur wrestling career in Iraq and even attended Oklahoma State University.

During his time in WWE, Al-Kaissie achieved notable success as Billy White Wolf, where he captured the WWE World Tag Team Championship in 1976. He later returned to WWE as General Adnan, and also appeared as the Sheik of Sheiks of Baghdad in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Additionally, he competed as Sheik Adnan El Kaissy in the American Wrestling Association and World Class Championship Wrestling, both as an in-ring competitor and a manager.

One of his most memorable moments came at SummerSlam 1991, where he headlined the event alongside Col. Mustafa (The Iron Sheik) and Iraqi sympathizer Sgt. Slaughter, facing off against the iconic duo of Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior.

Even after his in-ring career, Al-Kaissie’s legacy continued in the world of video games, as his General Adnan character appeared in WWE 2K15 and WWE 2K16.

WWE sends its heartfelt condolences to Adnan Al-Kaissie’s family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.
