Impact Wrestling’s Historic 1000th Episode Set to Feature Monumental Showdown

Impact Wrestling has announced that the highly anticipated Ultimate X match will be featured on the upcoming 1000th episode of the show. This special edition of the Impact-exclusive bout is set to be a highlight of the X-Division, showcasing the high-flying and daredevil nature of the division’s competitors.

While the participants for the Ultimate X match have yet to be announced, fans can expect an exhilarating display of athleticism and acrobatics as the X-Division superstars battle it out for supremacy. The winner of the match will undoubtedly earn a significant opportunity or accolade, although details regarding the specific prize remain unknown at this time.

This momentous occasion marks the 50th Ultimate X match in the history of Impact Wrestling. The inaugural match took place on August 20, 2003, at the NWA-TNA Weekly PPV #59. Michael Shane emerged victorious, capturing the X-Division Title by defeating Frankie Kazarian and then-champion Chris Sabin.

The most recent Ultimate X match occurred at Slammiversary in July of this year. Kushida emerged as the victor in a thrilling contest against Jake Something, Mike Bailey, Alan Angels, Kevin Knight, and Jonathan Gresham. By winning the match, Kushida earned the coveted #1 contender spot for the X-Division Title, currently held by Lio Rush. However, Kushida is yet to receive his title shot, and Rush has not defended the championship since capturing it from Chris Sabin on the same night.

The 1000th episode of Impact Wrestling is scheduled to air on Thursday, September 14, as the post-Victory Road edition. This special episode will be recorded on Saturday, September 9, at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY. In addition to the Ultimate X match, Impact will also tape additional episodes to carry them through to Bound For Glory, which takes place the day after the 2023 Victory Road pay-per-view, also at the Westchester County Center.

As the anticipation builds for this landmark episode, fans can expect a night filled with surprises, nostalgia, and memorable moments. In addition to the Ultimate X match, the card for Impact 1000 also includes a reunion of Impact Hall of Famers Team 3D, who will compete in their first match together since August 2016. The opponents for Team 3D are yet to be announced, adding an element of mystery and excitement to the event.
