AEW Rampage Results for Aug. 25

Rampage opens with a graphic in memory of Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt).

Orange Cassidy makes his entrance for an AEW International championship match against Aaron Solo. Harley Cameron sings Solo down to the ring.

Orange Cassidy defeats Aaron Solo to retain the AEW International title. Cassidy gets Solo’s ankles locked down to the mat and annoys him with the hands in the pockets in that position. Solo escapes to the outside and uses Cameron as a shield. OC hits her with the lazy kicks. Solo can’t take advantage of the distraction, but Cameron trips OC up on the buckle a short while later, giving Solo the edge going into the break. OC makes a comeback later in the fight, planting Solo with a tornado DDT for a near fall. Harley tries to distract him with more singing as he sets up for the Orange Punch. Solo takes advantage this time and drops OC with a nasty bumpb on his shoulder. Solo’s double stomp isn’t enough to get the three count. Solo hits OC with Harley’s boot when the ref isn’t looking, but OC kicks out of the pin attempt. After a couple reversals, OC finally lands the Orange Punch and Beach Break for the win.

The commentators emphasize that Cassidy’s Orange Punch is quite weakened due to his injured hand.

Jim Ross has a sit-down interview with AAA Latin American Champion QT Marshall. QT is sick of all the false narratives about him, like how he only gets opportunities in AEW due to his relationship with Tony Khan. This belt proves he is one of the best there is in the ring, despite always being underrated and undervalued. He’s going to get the respect he’s earned by defending the gold, starting tonight.

There’s a quick hype video for CM Punk vs. Samoa Joe at All In.

QT Marshall defeats Gravity to retain the AAA Latin American Championship. Before the match begins, QT cuts a promo in the ring, occasionally speaking in Spanish. He says Gravity’s brother Bandido is better than him, so he should just leave. Gravity slaps him in the face, and the fight is on. Gravity
