Cody Rhodes Urges WWE to Revive WCW’s Legendary Hotline for Incredible Wrestling Updates

Cody Rhodes, also known as the American Nightmare, has recently proposed a bold idea for the world of professional wrestling. He wants to bring back the hotline, a concept made famous by Mean Gene Okerlund in WCW. In a recent interview on the After The Bell podcast, Cody explained why he believes this would be a good idea.

According to Cody, he would love to bring back the hotline and put his own unique spin on it. The hotline, which used to require fans to pay a certain amount of money, allowed them to hear real scoops or storyline spoilers from the pro-wrestlers themselves. Cody acknowledged that it was primarily a cash grab, but he wants to make it more interesting and engaging for the fans.

“Here is what I would love to bring back, and maybe you guys know somebody who could do this. If I had any smidge of power, I would bring back the hotline. I would absolutely bring back the hotline. You can now do it as a text line, essentially, but there were real scoops, occasionally, on the hotline. Or, they were vague enough to where, if you were a fan, you knew. ‘Oh, he’s talking about Big Boss Man,'” Cody explained.

He also mentioned that he would host the weekly hotline and drop five things, but only one of them would be real. This would challenge the fans to decipher the truth from the false information. Cody believes that this would create excitement and anticipation among the fans, encouraging them to follow the hotline closely.

While the hotline may have been seen as a cash grab in the past, Cody wants to lessen the financial aspect of it to some extent. He wants to focus more on providing intriguing and entertaining content for the fans.

In a separate interview, Cody also expressed his love for the Nightmare Factory school, which he founded. He revealed that WWE scouts recently attended a showcase at the school, indicating their interest in the talent being developed there. This is certainly a testament to the hard work and dedication put into the Nightmare Factory.

It remains to be seen whether Cody’s idea of bringing back the hotline will come to fruition. However, it is clear that he is constantly thinking of innovative ways to engage with the fans and enhance their wrestling experience.
