Pat McAfee Reveals the Real Reason Behind His WWE Absence and Teases Epic Comeback

Pat McAfee, the former SmackDown commentator, has been missing from WWE broadcasts for quite some time now. McAfee took a hiatus in September 2022 due to his new position on ESPN College Gameday. While he made a surprise appearance at the 2023 Royal Rumble, he has not been regularly involved in WWE since then. McAfee recently addressed his absence during a Q&A session on his Instagram.

According to McAfee, he loved every second of his time in WWE but his new role at ESPN has kept him too busy to be a regular part of the company. He expressed his desire to be emotionally present in WWE but stated that it is currently not feasible due to his commitments at ESPN. However, McAfee assured fans that they will figure it out.

During his time as a commentator, McAfee made a significant impact and became a fan favorite. His charismatic personality and passion for the business shone through in his commentary. Despite his absence, McAfee’s contributions to WWE are still remembered by fans.

Opinion: McAfee’s absence from WWE broadcasts is understandable considering his demanding position at ESPN. While he excelled as a commentator, his larger career at ESPN takes precedence. It is likely that McAfee will make occasional appearances in WWE when his schedule permits, but for now, his focus remains on his commitments outside of wrestling.

He has a lot going on. There are all kinds of people who come together to make a wrestling show work with some of them almost never getting in the ring. The commentary team would fit that description as they are rarely the focus of a show but provide a very valuable service. Commentary can go a long way to help a show, but now we know a bit more about why a popular commentator has been missing.
