Arn Anderson Reveals the Thrilling Reason He Preferred Playing the Heel over the Babyface Role

Arn Anderson, the WWE Hall of Famer, recently shared his thoughts on being a babyface versus being a heel during his latest ARN show. Anderson, known for his legendary career in professional wrestling, expressed his preference for being a heel and the satisfaction he derived from eliciting negative reactions from the audience.

In the podcast, Anderson stated, “You know, even today, like at these cons and stuff we go to, the best compliment I can get is somebody will come up to me, and they’ll go, I hope you don’t get mad about this, but my grandmother hated your guts. Mission accomplished. I like being the bad guy.”

Anderson further explained his enjoyment of playing the villainous character and relishing in the opportunity to receive a beating when necessary. He mentioned, “I like getting my ass kicked when it’s time. I like doing nasty things to people and eliciting the reaction that makes them want to love that babyface and makes his job easy. And my job is easy.”

Throughout his career, Anderson showcased his skills as a heel in various wrestling promotions, including WCW. He thrived on creating a strong emotional response from the audience and playing the antagonist to the beloved babyface characters.

Anderson’s perspective offers a unique insight into the art of professional wrestling. While many wrestlers prefer the adoration of the fans as a babyface, Anderson found fulfillment in being the villain and generating a strong reaction from the audience.
