Shane Helms Recalls Working With The Rock, Says He Felt The Pressure On Him

Shane Helms, also known as The Hurricane, recently reflected on his experiences working with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson during his time in WWE. In a recent interview on Insight With Chris Van Vilet, Helms discussed the immense pressure he felt while working with The Rock, knowing that the success or failure of their match could have a significant impact on his career.

During the interview, Helms emphasized the weight of the situation, stating, “It’s not easy. And all the pressure was on me. You know, people don’t realize that. Like, if I go out there and stink it up with The Rock, he’s still gonna be The Rock. You’re never gonna see me again. Even I mean, even going into the match, you know, people… with Rocky. I was like, we had all the pressures on me. Because when we have that match, if this match sucks, he’s still gonna be The Rock. He’s still going to WrestleMania against Steve Austin. You won’t see my little if go out there and blow it with The Rock. Then it’s gonna be over for me.”

Despite the immense pressure, Helms managed to rise to the occasion and even achieved a shocking victory over The Rock on an episode of Raw. This unexpected triumph undoubtedly served as a significant highlight in Helms’ career.

In addition to his experiences with The Rock, Helms also discussed his role as a producer for WWE, specifically mentioning his involvement in producing the Sami Zayn vs. Johnny Knoxville matchup at WrestleMania 38. Helms expressed his satisfaction with the positive reception the match received in the Gorilla position, further solidifying his skills and contributions behind the scenes.
