Former WWE wrestler Lacey Evans, whose real name is Macey Estrella, has recently opened a cafe in Beaufort, South Carolina. The cafe, called Sunny Summers Cafe, is named after Estrella’s two daughters and aims to support the community, particularly those dealing with addiction and mental health issues.
The news of Estrella’s cafe opening comes shortly after her departure from WWE, with her contract reportedly expiring on August 16th. While rumors circulated about Estrella’s plans post-WWE, it has now been confirmed that she is pursuing her passion for helping others through her new business venture.
In an interview with The Island News, Estrella expressed her desire to make a positive impact in her community. She shared that she wants to provide support for addiction and mental health issues, inspired by her late father’s struggles with alcohol, drugs, and mental illness.
“I thought I could be of more assistance fighting a different fight than in the WWE ring,” said Estrella. “I want to focus on helping my community to fight against addiction and fight on the mental health side to normalize mental health issues.”
Sunny Summers Cafe will not only serve coffee and food but also offer meeting space for community organizations and addiction treatment programs. Estrella plans to provide free coffee and donuts to those in need. Additionally, she aims to host employment and empowerment workshops for women and military spouses, drawing on her own experience as a Marine Corps veteran.
The cafe’s opening is scheduled for Monday, August 21st, and Estrella has been working towards this goal for the past two years. The community has shown support and excitement for the upcoming launch.
