Hikaru Shida Reveals Bold Plans for Her AEW Women’s Title Reign

Hikaru Shida, the reigning AEW women’s champion, is determined to make her second reign stand out from her first. In a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Shida discussed her plans for this championship run, including cutting more promos and being a fighting champion.

During the interview, Shida expressed her desire to showcase her promo skills in the ring, something she felt limited by in her previous reign. She explained, “What I want to do in this reign is what I couldn’t before, so yeah, the interview is one of those. I really want to do a promo in the ring, where I couldn’t before because of that worry about the English. But now I feel I can do that.”

Shida also emphasized her goal of being a fighting champion and defending her title against a variety of challengers. She stated, “Of course, I want to wrestle many girls in AEW, but I want to build more library. In Japan, we usually have many matches before the title match, and we build the storylines and the fans’ excitement. So I’m happy if I can do that in this reign too.”

Next up for Shida is a title defense in a Four-Way match at the August 27th All In pay-per-view event in London. In the same interview, she revealed her hope for one AEW superstar to earn a spot in that match. You can find more details about that on Wrestling Headlines.
