This week’s episode of WWE NXT is set to kick off with an exciting title match! The NXT Tag Team Titles will be on the line as The Family, consisting of Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, make their first title defense against The Dyad, Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid. The match has been announced to open the broadcast on Tuesday.
The Family recently captured the NXT Tag Team Titles from Gallus (Wolfgang and Mark Coffey) at The Great American Bash on July 30. This will be The Dyad’s first standard tag team match since their victory over The Creed Brothers in a Losers Leave NXT match on the July 4 episode.
However, it seems that The Creed Brothers are not done with The Dyad just yet. The Creed Brothers are still involved in the NXT storylines and are feuding with The Dyad and the rest of The Schism. It is expected that The Creed Brothers will try to cost Fowler and Reid their title shot against The Family.
The decision to have The Family defend their titles against The Dyad was made after The Family stood up for Ivy Nile, a stablemate of The Creed Brothers, against The Schism. The Dyad had disrespected The Family during a backstage photo shoot, leading to this title match being booked.
