Final? Retirement has long since been a complicated issue in wrestling, as you can see wrestlers say they are done and then come back later on. Last week on SmackDown, a match between Edge and Sheamus was announced for this week’s edition in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Edge’s hometown. The show will also feature a celebration of Edge’s 25th anniversary in WWE. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Edge’s trainer has said that this will “probably” be Edge’s last match. In addition, last year, Edge said that he wanted to retire in Toronto, and this WWE’s last scheduled Toronto show for the time being. Opinion: If this is how Edge wants to go out, it couldn’t come with a much better situation. Edge has nothing left to accomplish and his career resume has been an all timer for years now. If he can go out on terms that he chooses in front of his hometown against a friend, it might not get much better than that. We’ll have to see if that is the case, but for now, it sounds like a nice idea.
