AEW Dynamite Results: Jericho Appreciation Society Walks Out on Chris Jericho
The August 9th episode of AEW Dynamite took place at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH, and it was an eventful night for Chris Jericho and his Jericho Appreciation Society (J.A.S.) group. The night started with the entire J.A.S. group coming to the ring without Jericho’s knowledge, which upset the leader of the group.
Jericho expressed his disappointment, stating that he came out as a friend and was unaware of their plans. However, the J.A.S. members had their own grievances to air. Daniel Garcia confronted Jericho about their recent match where Jericho took advantage of him after being hit with a baseball bat. Anna Jay, Tay Melo, Angelo Parker, and Matt Menard followed suit, each sharing their frustrations with Jericho. Sammy Guevara was the last one left, and he slapped the mic out of Jericho’s hand before walking out as well.
After the J.A.S. members left, Chris Jericho had a conversation with Don Callis backstage, where Callis apologized for any role he may have played in the situation. Jericho informed Callis that he had made his decision regarding the offer to join the Don Callis Family and that he would announce it next week.
In the night’s first match, The Young Bucks faced off against The Hardys. The Young Bucks emerged victorious after hitting a double team move and securing the pinfall. After the match, The Young Bucks called out FTR, and the AEW World Tag Team Champions accepted the challenge.
The episode also featured the announcement of a tournament to determine the challenger for the AEW Women’s Championship at AEW ALL IN. The tournament brackets were revealed, with Hikaru Shida defending her title against Anna Jay in the first round.
MJF and Adam Cole had another entertaining segment, where they discussed their upcoming match for the AEW World Championship at AEW ALL IN. They also expressed their desire to win the ROH Tag Team Championships.
In the main event, Hikaru Shida successfully defended her AEW Women’s Championship against Anna Jay. The match was hard-fought, but Shida emerged victorious and declared that she was coming for ALL IN.
