Karl Anderson’s Surprising Shift in WWE Comeback Plans

Karl Anderson recently appeared on Ryan Satin’s Out of Character podcast, where he discussed a wide range of topics, including his changing stance on returning to WWE. The Good Brothers, consisting of Anderson and Luke Gallows, made their returns to WWE last October to reunite with A.J. Styles as The OC. However, shortly after their release from the company in April 2020, Anderson had stated that he wouldn’t go back to WWE.

“So let’s say this, when we (Good Brothers) were released by the WWE in April of 2020 and I think it caught us by surprise and so, being an emotional and fiery person that wants the best out of his profession, there was feelings of anger and angst about it, and I wasn’t sure that we’d come back either,” Anderson explained.

During the two years they were away from WWE, Anderson and Gallows remained busy and focused on their careers. However, as time passed, conversations started happening, and some of the initial anger and angst began to fade away. Anderson realized that the passion they had inside them to be the best was a driving force.

Eventually, after receiving texts from Triple H and with their IMPACT contract finishing up, Anderson and Gallows sat down with WWE to work things out. Anderson expressed his happiness that they were able to resolve their differences and move forward.

Reflecting on his previous comments, Anderson acknowledged that some of the things he said were out of passion and emotion. He also highlighted that when someone is angry or worked up about something, they tend to speak their mind without considering the full context of the situation.

Anderson concluded by stating, “Who knows what was going on behind the scenes that time? Who knows what’s going on behind the scenes now sometimes? I don’t know all that stuff and who knows who’s calling the shots at certain points at that time in 2020 so, I’m just glad that we were able to work it out, fix it, and just be men and move on.”
