Hikaru Shida Wins AEW Women’s Title On AEW Dynamite 200 – Hikaru Shida emerged victorious in a thrilling match against Toni Storm on tonight’s historic 200th episode of AEW Dynamite. The event took place in Tampa and had fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

The match saw Storm come close to securing the win after using spray paint on Shida and executing her finishing move, Storm Zero. However, Shida displayed incredible resilience, kicking out of the pin attempt. In a surprising turn of events, Shida managed to trap Storm in a cradle pin, ultimately capturing the AEW Women’s Championship.

This victory marks Shida’s second reign as AEW Women’s Champion. Her first title win occurred during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic at Double or Nothing 2020 when she defeated Nyla Rose. Shida later dropped the title to Britt Baker at Double or Nothing 2021.

For those who may have missed the match or want to relive the excitement, highlights and a recap can be found below.

At the start of the match, Storm took the early offensive lead, but Shida quickly turned the tables. She unleashed a relentless assault, grabbing Storm by her ponytail and delivering a series of punishing blows. The referee issued a warning to Shida for her aggressive tactics.

The action spilled out of the ring as Shida engaged in a verbal exchange with Saraya and Soho before slamming Storm into the barricade. Shida attempted a unique variation of the ten-punch counting spot, driving Storm back-first into the guardrail. However, Storm regained control momentarily, taking advantage of the situation and launching her own offensive.

As the match progressed, Shida fought back, executing a powerful suplex on Storm into the turnbuckles. The action continued outside the ring, with Saraya and Storm delivering cheap shots. Storm maintained her assault on Shida as the match headed into a mid-match commercial break.

Upon returning from the commercial break, Storm attempted a hip attack in the corner, but Shida countered with a well-executed suplex. Shida followed up with a missile dropkick, coming close to securing a victory. She then unleashed a meteora and another near fall. The intensity continued to escalate as Storm and Shida took their battle to the top rope. Soho interjected herself into the match, leading to Storm executing a devastating DDT on Shida.

Undeterred, Shida displayed her resilience, kicking out of Storm’s subsequent pin attempt. Shida retaliated with a knee strike and a falcon arrow, nearly securing the win. However, Storm refused to be defeated, kicking out of the pinfall. Saraya seized the opportunity to slide a Kendo stick into the ring, but Shida managed to get hold of it. Storm goaded Shida to use the weapon, knowing the referee was watching closely. In a surprising turn of events, Shida turned the tables, using the spray paint to blind Soho instead. Seizing the moment, Shida rolled Storm up for an unexpected pinfall victory.
