WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long has suggested a potential feud between Nick Aldis and Cody Rhodes. In an interview with Sportskeeda, Long expressed his belief that there is still money to be made with Aldis and pitched the idea of revisiting their previous rivalry.
The feud between Aldis and Rhodes took place in 2018 and culminated in Rhodes defeating Aldis at All In to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title. However, Aldis later regained the title later that year. Currently, Rhodes is a top star in WWE, while Aldis is garnering interest from WWE while on the free agent market. There are plans to bring him in on a trial basis as a producer.
Long believes that Aldis should be utilized on TV and not wasted in developmental. He suggests building Aldis’ credibility and reputation before pitting him against Rhodes once again.
Speaking about Aldis, Long said, “I think that there’s still money in Nick Aldis, I think they should be using him on TV. I agree he could go to ‘NXT’ and be a great trainer, but he ain’t ready for that, there’s still money in this guy man, why waste him down there? Put him on TV and put him in a good story with somebody.”
Long’s proposal is to allow Aldis to establish himself and gain credibility before reigniting the feud with Rhodes. He suggests that Rhodes should not be given the opportunity to face Aldis immediately, but rather, Aldis should be given the chance to make a name for himself and then confront Rhodes when the time is right.
This potential feud has garnered attention from fans and wrestling enthusiasts alike, with many expressing excitement at the prospect of seeing Aldis and Rhodes once again go head-to-head in the ring.
