Santos Escobar Triumphs in the Thrilling United States Championship Invitational!

Austin Theory’s United States championship was up for grabs as an Invitational was held to determine the next challenger. The Invitational featured two Fatal 4-Way matches, with the winners advancing to a singles match for the number one contender spot.

In the first Fatal 4-Way match, Santos Escobar emerged victorious against BUTCH, AJ Styles, and Grayson Waller. Meanwhile, Rey Mysterio triumphed over LA Knight, Sheamus, and Cameron Grimes in the second match. These victories set up a highly anticipated showdown between the two LWO members on the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown in New Orleans.

The match between Escobar and Mysterio was a display of mutual respect and determination. Both competitors gave it their all, escalating the intensity as the match progressed. At one point, they even resorted to slapping each other in the face, showcasing their competitive spirit.

However, the match took a turn when Mysterio suffered a hard impact on the outside after Escobar executed a dive. Concerned doctors immediately attended to Mysterio, and it was announced that he would be unable to continue competing.

As a result, Escobar was declared the winner of the match and earned the opportunity to face Austin Theory for the United States championship. Despite the disappointment of not being able to complete the match, Mysterio still embraced and showed respect to Escobar. In a display of solidarity, Escobar kneeled and praised his LWO stablemate.

WWE on FOX shared a tweet expressing concern for Mysterio’s well-being, urging fans to send their prayers his way. The tweet included a video of the incident where Mysterio hit his head hard on the floor.
