AEW Blind Eliminator Tournament Reaches Epic Grand Finale

AEW star Jeff Hardy is set to make a special appearance for Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) at their “My Name Is” event in Detroit, Michigan on Friday, August 4. The event will take place at Harpo’s Concert Theatre and will be aired live on FITE. This announcement has created a lot of buzz among wrestling fans, as many were hoping to see Hardy wrestle a match that night.

However, GCW later clarified that Hardy will not be wrestling at the event. They mentioned that he will be making a special appearance, but no further details were provided. This news disappointed some fans who were expecting to see Hardy compete in the ring.

Despite not wrestling, Hardy will be performing one of his concerts immediately after the GCW event. The concert, presented by WrestleCon and GCW, will feature Hardy performing his original music and sharing stories with fans. The concert is scheduled to run from 11:15pm until midnight. Separate tickets are required for the concert, and they can be purchased on the Eventbrite page.

Matt Hardy, Jeff’s brother, discussed Jeff’s future on the indies during an episode of his “Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast. Matt mentioned that Jeff is open to doing signings and conventions, but he only wants to do two a month. This shows that Jeff is being selective with his appearances and focusing on his sobriety journey.

Since returning to action in May, Jeff has wrestled only four matches. He teamed up with Matt and FTW Champion Hook for a win over The Gunns and Ethan Page at AEW Double Or Nothing on May 28. They also competed in non-televised AEW House Rules live events in June, where they emerged victorious in both matches. However, Jeff has not wrestled since The Gunns defeated The Hardys on the June 21 episode of Dynamite.

It was reported that Jeff would be off AEW programming for a few weeks as he is unable to enter Canada due to his criminal record. Matt attributed Jeff’s absence to a broken jaw suffered during the June 21 loss to The Gunns.

GCW’s announcement of Jeff Hardy’s appearance has generated a lot of excitement, even though he won’t be wrestling. Fans will still have the opportunity to see Hardy in person and enjoy his music at the concert following the event. The limited number of General Admission tickets for the GCW event are still available, priced at $35.
