WWE on-air talent Megan Morant is making headlines today for her selfless act of donating one of her kidneys. Morant took to Instagram to announce that she will be advance donating a kidney to Margrette Mondillo, the wife of David Mondillo, who she previously worked under while they were both employed by the NFL’s New England Patriots.
Although Morant and Mondillo are not a blood type match, they are able to participate in the National Kidney Registry’s joint donor program. This program allows Morant to advance donate her kidney, while Mondillo receives a kidney from another donor. Morant explained on her Instagram Stories that as soon as she comes out of surgery, Mondillo will be activated in the National Kidney Registry, bringing her one step closer to a second chance at life.
In her Instagram post, Morant expressed that this opportunity to donate her kidney is “truly the honor of my life.” She also shared in her Instagram Stories that today is the biggest day of her life. Morant’s dedication to helping others is evident in her statement, “Tonight there are 4 strangers out there going to bed with so much hope because they are going to get a second chance at life all because one donation started a chain reaction. LET’S DO THIS!”
Morant’s commitment to this cause is truly inspiring. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she shared the story of how she became motivated to donate her kidney. After learning that a friend needed a kidney, Morant decided to get tested and see if she was a match. Unfortunately, she was not a match for her friend, but she made a promise to herself that if the opportunity to donate a kidney ever arose again, she would do it.
That opportunity came when she discovered that her previous boss’ wife was in kidney failure. Morant saw this as a sign and went through months of testing and waiting to finally reach this day. Despite not being a blood type match with Mondillo, Morant’s participation in the National Kidney Registry’s joint donor program allows her to help save Mondillo’s life.
Throughout this entire process, Margrette Mondillo has shown incredible strength and positivity. Despite daily dialysis and the pain of kidney failure, she continues to work in the nonprofit sector to make a difference in the lives of others. Morant feels blessed to be able to help Margrette and her family and considers it the honor of her life.
As Morant prepares for the surgery, she asks for prayers and support from those who are willing. She promises to keep everyone updated and expresses her readiness to undergo the procedure. Morant’s determination to make a difference is evident as she states, “We’ve got our green nails on and we are ready to go!”
