However, WWE sources have confirmed that he was in the Northeast part of the country that weekend and was spotted at an airport in Pittsburgh, PA, where WWE’s medical program is headquartered.
It appears that Carlito’s absence from last week’s SmackDown was a strategic decision by WWE. A source within the company stated that his return would have been overshadowed by the presence of The Bloodline, referring to the dominant faction consisting of Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso. With such a high-profile group taking center stage, it was deemed best to hold off on Carlito’s return for a more opportune moment.
Despite his absence, it is still expected that Carlito will eventually join the SmackDown roster upon his return. Fans will have to wait a little longer to see the former champion back in action.
