He’s Next? Goldberg Is Unhappy With Lack Of Retirement Match, Original Plans With WWE

He wants to keep going. Retirement in wrestling is a tricky situation as you never know how it might work out. Goldberg was a guest on the Adam Carriker Show on 93.7 The Ticket (Lincoln, Nebraska) and talked about his planned retirement match. According to Goldberg, he and Vince McMahon had a handshake agreement for him to have a proper retirement match after Crown Jewel in February 2022. The retirement match did not take place, which had Goldberg saying “nobody puts a stamp on my career.” Goldberg, 56 years old, did not say anything about wrestling another match, though his WWE contract expired earlier this year, making him a free agent.

Opinion: There is a place for Goldberg in modern wrestling and it would be great to see him get in the ring one more time. Above all else, he has the star power and raw strength to make him feel like a monster. I could go for seeing him get a big sendoff as Goldberg is an absolute legend in wrestling. Let him have his big match and ride off into the sunset, as he deserves to have.
