Lance advances in US contenders tourney ?NJoA?

Archer gets past last minute addition in Fred Rosser

After Juice Robinson was suspended in the wake of an attack on Fred Rosser and an official in Washington DC, April 16 and Collision in Philadelphia saw a hobbled but eager Rosser take Juice’s place against Lance Archer for the right to advance to Dominion in Osaka and an IWGP US number one contender’s match.

Lance Archer would get on the mic before his bout and showed admiration for Rosser’s guts, before suggesting a hardcore rules match. Rosser accepted with cane shots to Archer; the Murderhawk Monster quickly took charge of the badly damaged Rosser who responded with a low blow and desperate strikes.

A wounded animal, Rosser remained dangerous with a wild chair thrown at Archer, but the huge former US Champion dragged his foe through the crowd and to the merch stands. Back to ringside, Archer used a cane to hammer a chair into Rosser’s skull, Mr. No Days Off fighting back with the use of the ring bell, but Archer would go right to the damaged ear of his opponent.

With the corner exposed and Archer looking to finish off the bloody Rosser, a sudden turn of the tables saw Rosser go to the leg of his opponent and then lock in the stepover chickenwing. As Rosser was moments from victory though, Juice Robinson hit the ring, striking the former STRONG champion with a roll of quarters for the second night in a row. Archer took Rosser down with a lariat and scored the three, leaving Philadelphia with some biting comments toward Kenny Omega.
