Motor City Machine Guns win Tag title match
The STRONG Openweight tag Team Championships were on the line on February 18 at Battle in the Valley, as double STRONG and IMPACT Tag Team Champions the Motor City machineguns defended against Royce Isaacs and Jorel Nelson, the West Coast Wrecking Crew.
A fast start to the bout saw Nelson take early control, and though Sabin and Shelley brought their quickness, Isaacs caught Sabin on a suicide dive and took him for a ringside tour in vertical suplex position, while Shelley was dumped center ring. Yet it was the veteran champion’s wherewithal that shone through, and on the second attempt, Sabin landed his tope suicida to both champions, as ‘Motor City’ chants rang through the San Jose Civic.
A rare miscue from Sabin and Shelley saw the powerful challengers take back control, and the Movie on the Roof elbow drop nearly saw new champions crowned. Double German suplexes followed, but the Dream Sequence connected for the Guns, and the Dirt Bomb followed, the Motor City machineguns moving to V3 with the STRONG Openweight tag titles.
